Swimming test

This is my diorama. My diorama is based on the book Otherwise known as Sheila the Great by Judy Blume.

A girl called Sheila goes to a town called Tarrytown for the summer. In the scene that I chose Sheila is taking her swimming test. Sheila is in the water and her swimming teacher, Marty is behind her. Her friend , Mouse is on the left. I chose this scene because I liked the way how the author explained the way her teacher was supporting her and the way how she felt. I think that this book is trying to tell you don’t give up right away and try again if the first time doesn’t come out right.

This is a self-portrait that I made on KidPix. The background shows some things about me. I made the background red because my favorite color is red. I put a soccer ball in the background because my favorite sport is soccer. I play soccer too. I put a dog in the background because my favorite animals are dogs. The last thing I put in the background is a book. I put a book there because I love to read. I hope you enjoyed hearing about my self-portrait!
